This year has FLOWN by! I have been so busy with work and stuff around the house that I have had no time to devote to this blog, which really sucks. I promise I will try to do better.
First, a little personal update from the Penrod’s.
I am 20 weeks pregnant with our baby girl. Halfway to meeting her! We are so excited and looking forward to this new adventure with our first child. We are trying to focus a lot of our extra money on adding to our savings for a little bit of a cushion once the baby comes. My husband got another job, back in the coal mines. I am not the happiest about this, but the money will be nice at this point in our lives. Let’s just hope he doesn’t have to stay there too long…
For our financial update:
My goals for this year was to pay off our credit cards and the backhoe. Unfortunately, I did not meet all of those. We did pay off our Cabela’s credit card, backhoe, Brody’s surgery, and the new backhoe tires. I did not get my Discover card all paid off though, still owing $268 on it. I am going to pay that off within the next month though, so I will only be a few weeks late.
Our beginning debt balance for 2016 was $169,139 and our ending debt balance is $151,630. That means we paid off $17,509. I am very pleased with that! I am so glad that I have been keeping track so I can see the progress we are making. We still have a ways to go though, so I am going to form my goals for the new year and re-evaluate or current financial plan. Post coming soon!
